On the Mend Physical Therapy is a therapist-owned, family-run outpatient practice with two East Valley locations, founded in 2006 by Katrina Herron, PT, DPT, CLT. Structured, scheduled 1-on-1 mentorship, a visit cap with an achievable bonus threshold, and AI-assisted documentation that gets you home on time.
A few things clinicians usually want to know before they even apply.
Structured Mentorship
CE funding for every clinician, plus a $500 annual travel stipend. No cap.
No Pajama Time
92% of clinicians finish charting before leaving. AI-assisted documentation is built into the day.
Achievable Bonus, Not a Quota
60 visits/week cap. Bonus pay starts at visit 57, a clear threshold, not an open-ended treadmill.
Unlimited CE
CE funding for every clinician, plus a $500 annual travel stipend. No cap.
Fellowship Funding
Up to $12,500 in fellowship reimbursement for ABPTFE-approved programs, including AAMT and IAMT.
Flexible Scheduling
Choice of 4x10s or 5x8s, with flexibility built into the week.
Open roles
Current openings
at On the Mend.
On the Mend is part of the HRS group: 17 therapist-owned practices across 6 states. You get the culture of an independent clinic and the infrastructure of an established organization.
No fine print. Here is what every clinician gets from day one.
Generous Visit Length
Visits are scheduled on the half hour but typically run a full hour. More time with each patient than the schedule requires.
Techs & PTAs on Staff
Support staff reduce non-clinical burden and extend your clinical capacity.
17+ Days PTO
Starts at 17 days and grows by tenure, up to 26. Holidays are covered through your accrued time off.
4% Match
Safe Harbor 401(k) through American Funds, vested from day one. Contribute 5% of gross pay to max it out.
75% Covered
Applies to your medical premium, whether you choose a traditional plan or HDHP with HSA.
$10,000 Loan Repayment
Tax-free, for every full-time PT. Paid monthly over five years.

Affordability
Median home price around $455,000, less than half of LA's ~$870,000. Your salary goes further here.
An Established Practice
Two decades of referral relationships in the East Valley. A full caseload from day one, not a startup ramp-up.
A Real Downtown
Downtown Mesa has museums, an award-winning arts center, and ongoing growth.
Outdoor Recreation
Sonoran Desert trails and the Superstition Mountains, right in the East Valley. The Salt River is close for tubing and kayaking.
Day Trips
2 hours to Sedona. 2 hours to the Grand Canyon's South Rim. 2.5 hours to Flagstaff for skiing.
Mild Winters
Highs in the mid-to-upper 60s through winter, ranked the sunniest metro in the country, while most of the country shovels snow.
Professional Sports
NFL, NBA, MLB, and WNBA teams call the Phoenix metro home: the Cardinals, Suns, Diamondbacks, and Mercury are all a short drive away.
Arizona Boomerangs
Grew up in the East Valley, trained elsewhere, ready to come home? This is that job.
Priced Out Elsewhere?
Seattle's median home is $865K. Mesa is $455K. Same-size paycheck, a very different mortgage
Affordability
Median home price around $389,000, about $226,000 below Bozeman's ~$615,000. Your salary goes further here. Good for families putting down roots.
Best Place to Live
#1 Best Place to Live in Montana (US News & World Report, 2026). Ranked above Bozeman on affordability.
Priced Out Elsewhere?
Last Chance Gulch: a real, walkable downtown core with local breweries, coffee shops, and restaurants within blocks. Not a strip mall.
Outdoor Recreation
Mount Helena and a 70-mile trail system, right in town. Gates of the Mountains Wilderness is a short drive beyond it.
Be on the Water
Fish the Missouri River, hike to Heart Lake, or hit any of three reservoirs. The Blackfoot and Little Blackfoot rivers are close too.
The Mountains
Great Divide ski area is 45 minutes away, with no lines and real kids' programs. Glacier National Park is 3.5 hours, and Yellowstone is a half-day away.
Montana Boomerangs
Grew up in Montana, trained out of state, want to come home? This is the job that gets you there.
Real Capital, Not a Big City
About 33,000 people, family-friendly and safe. You'll know your patients, your neighbors, and your kids' teachers by name.
Priced Out Elsewhere?
Denver's median home is $519K. Seattle's is $865K. Helena is $389K, with the same access to the outdoors, without the price tag.
Student Rotations
DPT students are
welcome here.
On the Mend prioritizes Arizona-based DPT programs: ATSU, NAU Phoenix, Creighton Phoenix, Midwestern, NAU Flagstaff, and UA Tucson. ATSU's campus is less than a mile from our Mesa location, so if you're a student there, you can rotate here without relocating. What you'll actually learn: outpatient orthopedics, lymphedema care, and dry needling under direct mentorship. Operational insight into leadership and clinic operations, not just clinical skills.
$750/mo
Housing stipend for the duration of your rotation
+ Out of State
Additional stipends are available for students moving from out of state.
Direct Hire
Jacques frequently hires directly from his own rotation students.
Housing Stipend
$500 for the full duration of your rotation at On the Mend.
Real Mentorship
The same structured, scheduled 1-on-1 mentorship model extends to rotation students. A real preview of what full-time hires get.
Direct Hire
Hire full-time, and your benefits start immediately: $10K loan repayment, unlimited CE, and fellowship reimbursement.
